The Third Meeting of the Confucius Classroom Supervisory Board Held at the Central University of Europe

On November 25, the Confucius Classroom Supervisory Board at the Central University of Europe held its third meeting in an online format. The participants reviewed the activities of the past year, discussed future development strategies, and agreed on directions for further strengthening cooperation.

At the meeting, the Rector of the Central University of Europe, Gocha Tutberidze, highlighted the progress achieved by the Confucius Classroom — particularly in teaching the Chinese language, promoting Chinese culture, and enhancing international partnerships. He emphasized that the Confucius Classroom plays a significant role in the university’s internationalization process and in strengthening students’ cultural competencies.

Sun Hunxin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Xinjiang Medical University, also underscored the importance of long-standing close cooperation between the institutions and identified traditional Chinese medicine and medical education as key areas with strong potential for expanding collaboration.

During the meeting, the Supervisory Board unanimously approved the agreement on “Continuing Cooperation in the Management of the Confucius Classroom,” which will support the development of joint projects and educational programs in the coming years.

The members of the board were presented with the annual report by the Director of the Confucius Classroom, Den Ning, and the financial report by the Director from Georgian side of the Confucius Classroom, Giorgi Datuashvili. Both documents demonstrated growth in student enrollment, improvements in the learning process, and the positive outcomes of ongoing initiatives.

The third meeting of the Confucius Classroom Supervisory Board once again reaffirmed the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Xinjiang Medical University and the Central University of Europe and laid the groundwork for future joint educational, cultural, and research collaboration.
