A Chinese Language Corner has been inaugurated at the Kutaisi Public Library

Within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation between the Confucius Class of the central university of Europe and the Kutaisi Public Library, a Chinese Corner has been opened at the Kutaisi Public Library.

The initiative aims to promote the Chinese language, culture, and traditions, as well as to increase access to Chinese language learning for the local community. The cooperation also envisages the implementation of joint educational, cultural, and informational projects and events.

As part of the initiative to establish the Chinese Language Corner, the the central university of Europe with the support of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and Xinjiang University, donated around 60 books to the library.

The collection includes fiction and non-fiction literature, publications on Chinese history, culture, and education, as well as Chinese language learning textbooks covering HSK levels 1 – 6.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China, including the Consul and the Cultural Attaché, the Rector of the central university of Europe, Georgian and Chinese Directors of the Confucius Class, Chinese language teachers, members of the university’s academic staff, the Head of the Culture Department of the Kutaisi Mayor’s Office, the Head of the Department of Foreign Relations and International Projects, as well as representatives of the library.

Within the framework of the event, guests toured the newly established educational space and discussed the importance of deepening educational and cultural cooperation between Georgia and China.

The opening of the Chinese Language Corner represents another significant step toward the development of international educational and cultural ties. It will contribute to the promotion and greater awareness of the Chinese language and culture among the residents of Kutaisi and young people.
