Students of the Faculty of Medicine of the Central University of Europe participated in the international conference

May 5–8, 2025, students of the Faculty of Medicine of the Central University of Europe participated in the XIV Congress of the Georgian Association of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (GAACI 2025).

Along with students from other Georgian universities, three third-year students of the Faculty of Medicine presented their papers on behalf of the university: Prakash Katikerajula, Irene Agnus Edwin, and Tejeshwini Talasani, who were scientifically supervised by the affiliated professor of the university, Sophio Gamkrelidze.

At the conference, the Central University of Europe presented three abstracts:

  • Prakash Katikerajula gave a presentation on allergen immunotherapy, exploring its emerging role in improving patient outcomes and its potential for optimizing treatment protocols.

  • Irene Agnus Edwin spoke about the role of the microbiome in asthma, highlighting how the gut microbiome influences immune responses and asthma development — a rapidly growing area of research in asthma.

  • Tejeshwini Talasani gave a presentation on angiogenesis factors as circulating biomarkers in asthma, presenting promising biomarkers for early diagnosis and disease monitoring of asthma.

It is noteworthy that within the framework of this event, participants had the opportunity to attend valuable workshops and deepen their practical experience in the diagnosis and management of allergies and asthma. They also strengthened their research and clinical skills.
