Central University of Europe hosted the workshop “CYCLE UP! – Interactive Workshop on Urban Infrastructure and Design: The City Through the Eyes of Pedestrians and Cyclists.”
The workshop aimed to explore opportunities for developing Kutaisi as a comfortable, inclusive, and environmentally accessible city for all citizens. Participants discussed ways to improve the urban environment and examined how city spaces can be better adapted to the needs of pedestrians and cyclists.
As part of the workshop, students worked in small groups and took part in a study tour around Kutaisi. During the tour, they observed the city’s urban environment, transportation systems, and environmental challenges firsthand.
Drawing on their experiences, participants analyzed issues related to urban accessibility, inclusivity, and sustainable city development. They also gained a deeper understanding of the everyday needs and challenges faced by local residents, while exploring ways to create a more people-centered and environmentally friendly urban space.
The workshop was organized by the Czech Centre Tbilisi in cooperation with its local partner, central university of Europe
The event was held as part of the CYCLE UP! project and was co-funded by the European Union through the Creative Europe Programme.
